GistX

Trust + methodology

If we can't cite it to a clause, we don't say it.

GistX is a contract review engine, not a legal advice service. The mechanism that makes the engine's output trustworthy: every substantive claim is grounded to a span in the source document, and the engine ships nothing that isn't.

Numbers derive from the 12 contract standards at /sample. Each card shows the engine's actual classification, confidence, clause count, finding count, and grounding score. No cherry-picking.

Our principles

  • Grounded by construction. Every finding cites the clause it came from. A finding that can't be tied to a real span in the source is dropped before you see it.
  • Audited prose, not just findings. The narrative overview is itself checked sentence-by-sentence. Anything we can't back-trace to a grounded finding gets dropped, not softened.
  • Perspective is structural, not cosmetic. Tell the engine which side you're on; risk is weighted from your interest, not the document's.
  • Visible quirks. Classification confidence, grounding scores, warnings, and any misses ride along with every analysis. We don't hide the rough edges.

Data handling

  • Your documents aren't shared. Uploads are scoped to your account; only you (and admins on your account) can read them.
  • Your documents aren't used to train. Engine calls run under no-training APIs. We don't store prompts or completions for model improvement.
  • You can delete. Removing an analysis from your dashboard deletes the database row, the stored document, and the cached reports.

What we don't do

  • We don't give legal advice. The engine describes what the document says and surfaces what is unusual or risky for the perspective you choose. It does not tell you what to do, does not predict outcomes, does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • We don't draft or redline. Generative editing breaks the grounding discipline. Recipients negotiate with their lawyer or counterparty; the engine reads.
  • We don't auto-sign or auto-send. GistX is read-only on your document.
  • We don't pretend to be an attorney. Engage one for any decision that matters.

Verify it yourself

The fastest way to test our claims: open any of the 12 samples and click a flagged finding. The cited clause is in the same document, in the same run. If the quote doesn't appear there, that's a bug; tell us.
